More TLM in the South Florida area

Recently someone posted a comment regarding the availablility of the TLM now know as the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite. They were having difficulty finding a parish with a regular TLM in the South Dade area and perhaps an "e mail list" should be started in order to organize people in the local South Florida area to increase the availability of the TLM.

Originally, when I started this blog it was, in part, a response to the Archdioceses of Miami radio show, "Faith Factor" The show asked callers to tell them "What kind of music do you prefer when you go to Mass?" Some callers indicated that they preferred very charismatic, praise and worship music and that traditional Catholic music was Euro-centric. This appears, at least in my experience, to be the predominant attitude in local parishes in South Florida. I think this attitude is why we the TLM is not more "popular."

Are Gregorian chant and polyphony and the Traditional Mass simply museum pieces that are not relevent for today's Catholics in Miami? If you are interested in having a TLM at your parish in South Florida I would like to offer this blog as a way of organizing people in order to make that a reality.

I would like to hear from you, especially if you are in the South Florida area.

If you need bodies to fill pews, I'd be there if you organized a TLM. What do you need? How do you intend to organize something through the blog? Do you want to be contacted somewhere?

Charles, I have created an e mail account miamilatinmass@yahoo.com so we can exchange information about starting a Latin Mass Society in Miami.

BTW nice blog.
